The Elon Musk team to classify costs has placed its attention on the National Art Gallery, as it seems that the so -called Ministry of Governmental efficiency is bypassing federal agencies to target the columns of the cultural life of the United States.

Envoy from Dodge The leading cultural establishment in Washington-which includes international groups of European and American art-visited on Thursday and met the museum, according to people familiar with the matter, despite the exhibition that operates outwardly with the ARM’s length from the White House.

Dog’s intentions in the national exhibition are not yet clear and a representative has not responded to the initiative to request the comment.

But this step by Dog comes as the Trump administration expanded the attack on the cultural institutions of the United States as part of its war against the so -called “ideology” “wake up”. Last month, the President issued an executive entitled “Restore truth and rationality of American history”, which targeted the Smithsonian Foundation for depicting race and sex.

Trump also took control of the Kennedy-large center and the most prominent place for the arts performance in Washington, DC-pledging that “there will be no more withdrawals or any other anti-American advertising” at the site. The move prompted a violent reaction from artists and performance artists.

The national exhibition has so far fled the anger of the administration. The members of the new cabinet celebrated Trump’s inauguration in the place in January.

After donations from the old and sculpted main paintings from the Treasury Secretary at that time, and the massive mosque of Andrew Mellon, the exhibition was officially established by Congress in 1937. It is run by a board of directors from the President of the Supreme Court in the Supreme Court John Roberts, Minister of Treasury, State Secretary, and five trustees.

However, the largest part of the national exhibition financing comes from the annual federal budget – which Dog pledged to cut by one dollar.

In the past fiscal year, the museum received nearly $ 210 million from the United States government, allowing the Foundation to pay salaries and maintain acceptance for free for all.

In January, the national exhibition removed references to diversity and integration from its website, after it was considered an executive signed by Donald Trump such “illegal” initiatives. The move came a few months after the exhibition asked the Congress to obtain more money, in part to ensure that it can “focus on diversity, fairness, access and integration” and diversify his collection “to include more artists and collections active.”

In a statement in response to the Doug’s visit, the national exhibition confirmed that it was “an independent confidence institution for the United States established by the Congress Law in 1937.”

She said: “As a partnership between the public and private sectors, we have worked with every administration since our construction and we will continue to work with the administration and the Congress while we are focusing on fulfilling our mission in maintaining technical excellence and sharing it with all Americans.”
