“We are in our best moments”

UNai Emery believes that Aston Villa suffers from “the best moment” after a convincing 4-1 victory over his Premier League teammate Newcastle on Saturday.

Olie Watkins scored 33 seconds to give the hosts to Villa Park, thus drawing a level with Gabriel Agbonlahor as the club’s top scorer in the Premier League.

Then Watercins hit the wooden work before Fabian Shar, who came in the match from the back of the winning of six games.

But this range was supposed to end here as goals that were not answered in the second half of Ian Maatsen, Amadou Unana, and Dan Bern, gave Villa a victory in his payment for another season of football in the Champions League.

The result also extends to the impressive Villa record at home to 19 competitive games without defeat.

“We have focused on this match,” Emery told Sky Sports.

“I was completely happy with how we respond. We cannot waste time. We are now at our best moment.”

In the post-match interview, Watercins admitted that he was “smoking” after he was excluded from the start squad in the 3-2 UEFA Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the middle of the week, but Emery was full of praise for his striker.

“He has played wonderfully. His commitment is always high and this is the competitiveness we want,” Emery said.

Villa is next to work against another competitor to get the best five years in Manchester City, Pep Guardiola.

Emery’s side is heading to Al -Ittihad on Tuesday evening before Crystal Palace took the FA Cup semi -final in Wembley on Saturday.

Before the mid -week trip to the city, Villa’s president said: “Manchester City perform great. They are not as consistent as before, but they are still competitors in the first five places.

“It is a challenge and we feel power and look forward to it. But it will be very difficult, but this is the challenge we want.”
