Harry Maguire described Manchester United’s victory over Lyon as the most strange match in his football career.
She left the match at Old Trafford-who won the United Semi-finals of the European League 7-6 with the assembly of the amazing experienced back.
England International scored the decisive goal in the 120th minute, one of the two United in the last minute of extra time.
He said: “It was an incredible feeling to score this winner in such an important game, in a game that was full of emotion and the strangest and miserable game in which I played or watched.”
The game introduced records books for another reason – it was the first European player to include five goals during the additional time.
United was early control over Old Trafford with strikes in the first half of Manuel Ugariti and Dugo Dalut, as they made comfortable progress 2-0 at the end of the first half.
But Lyon returned back, as Corentin Toliso reduced the deficit and Nicolas Tajviko was to settle things shortly after. Tolosso’s red card seemed to swing in the match for United, but it was the French side that hit after that.

Ryan Cherke Leon put forward during the extra time, and Alexander Lacazette added another penalty.
“I think they (Lyon) thought they would win, the way they were celebrating,” said Maguer. “This gave us more incentives to convert the game.
“I was here six years ago and I have some great times and some bad times as well. I think this game has greatly summarized my time in this club, to be honest.”
In the future, Maguire added that while the return was great, United must tighten if they wanted to raise the cup.
“I think the worst feeling is that we felt that we had thrown it away, instead of losing the game at that moment, and how we were able to introduce ourselves into this situation,” he said. “Because even at an additional time at 2-2, the momentum has returned with us with the transmission, we should not end up in this situation.
“We have to do much better if we want to win this competition – we cannot do that and leave it to turn it into this situation.”
