Abrams, who held the position of a special representative of Iran from 2020 to 2021 in the first Trump administration, discussed the ongoing talks between us and Iranian officials on the Iranian nuclear program – the first of their kind in the years. He said that the meetings “should not be a surprise”: US President Donald Trump “certainly does not want to go to war” (with Iran).
