“He stood over this girl… You are nothing but a bully, Virat”: An Australian journalist criticizes Kohli and calls him a bully after the Melbourne airport incident

The Australian media has renewed its criticism of cricket star Virat Kohli, with Channel Nine journalist Tony Jones accusing him of being a “bully”. These comments come after Kohli’s confrontation with journalist Nat Ioannidis at Melbourne Airport, where he asked her to refrain from photographing his family.

Kohli has constantly asked Indian paparazzi to avoid photographing his son and daughter. However, the Australian media did not comply with this and began registering his children. When Kohli confronted reporters and photographers, it sparked controversy. The 36-year-old asked the reporter to delete the footage showing his family and keep only the parts that show him.

“Nat was there with a photographer, and the Channel 7 reporter was there with his cameraman, and they were basically doing what we do on a daily basis, which is being at the airport getting IDs, whether they were political IDs, whether they were sports IDs or whatever,” Jones said.

“He was upset, because he was Virat Kohli, because the cameras were focused on him,” he added.

“Well duh! You’re a batsman, you’re a global cricket star, and he resents the fact that the attention is focused on him.

“What really encouraged me when I saw the footage was that he turned to the three guys, the photographers and the Channel 7 reporter, and said ‘You’re all right guys, it’s her,’” Jones said.

“Really? Big strong man, Virat.

“Then he stood in front of this girl, Nat Ioannidis, who was about five-foot-five and completely berated her.

“You are nothing but a bully, Virat,” Jones said.

Kohli appeared in three Test matches at the MCG, scoring 316 runs across six innings at an impressive average of 52.66. His record on the field includes a century and a half-century, with a memorable knock of 169 in 2014. That Test ended in a draw. It is worth noting that Australia has not defeated India in the MCG tournament since 2011. After a draw in 2014, India recorded two victories over the hosts at Melbourne.
