Four members of a Lebanese family were killed with US ties – including three children and their father – in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon during the weekend, which left a total of five people, according to relatives.

Shadi Charara, a car dealer, was killed while driving to his home in the southern coastal tire city on Sunday with his wife and four children after lunch at his mother’s house in the town of Bint Jabal, a few miles from the border with Israel.

The Israeli army confessed to the strike, saying in a statement that it was targeting the Hezbollah militant, which was not mentioned, and that it was “working from a civilian population.”

Sam Bazi, the grandfather of the children, told the Associated Press that the family thought it was safe because they had no affiliation with Hezbollah.

In his statement, the Israeli army admitted that the civilians were killed in the strike and said it was reviewing the accident.

“We are normal citizens and do not belong to any group,” said Bazi. “Thus we believed that he had nothing to do with it and we lived naturally, coming and going.”

The family was a few hundred meters away from Bazi’s house when a motorcycle passed, and at the same moment, the Israeli plane was hit. In addition to Shara, the strike claimed the life of his son, daughter, his 18 -month -old Hadi, and his 8 -year -old daughter Ceylon, motorcycles, a local man named Mohamed Majid Majid.

The mother of the children, Amina Bazi, and her older daughter, Aseel, survived, but they were seriously injured. Bazi, whose face was made bruises and swelling, was transferred to the crowd in the funeral of her husband and children in the daughter of Jabal.

At the funeral, the coffins were covered with Lebanese flags, and the Lebanese flags were only looming in the crowd. The distinctive yellow Hezbollah flag is usually transferred to the funerals in southern Lebanon – one of the main strongholds of the group – when its customers are buried.

Adhering to the United States cease-fire I stopped the latest Israeli war-the supply of God in November, two months after hundreds of portable summonses exploded simultaneously in parts of Lebanon and Syria in A. An advanced remote attack. The conflict began on October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah began shooting at the border rockets, one day after the murderous incursion led by Hamas in southern Israel in Gaza. Israel responded by bombing and air strikes in Lebanon, and the two sides became closed in the conflict.

Since it entered the ceasefire, Israel has continued to launch almost daily air strikes in southern Lebanon. Israeli officials often say they are targeting Hezbollah fighters or infrastructure. Hezbollah has only recognized the division once since the ceasefire, but Israel says that the armed group is trying to rebuild its capabilities.

The ceasefire does not cover the fighting in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, another armed group backed by Iran. The efforts made in this conflict stop.

The sister -in -law of Shara, Amina, who lives in Dearborn, Michigan, said that the family’s homes were damaged or destroyed in the war last year, but they were lucky that none of their relatives was not damaged.

She said: “We have always said, Praise be to God, we have only lost stones, not humans.” “House and stones and stones can be rebuilt, but how can my brother return?”

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berry said after the strike that Shadi is a city and his children are American citizens. However, family members told AP that Charrar had no American nationality, but his brothers and father lived in the United States and citizens. They said that Charara applied to join them and recently obtained approval, but they were still waiting for visas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to comment on “personal details”.

On Sunday, the European Union condemned the strike and called for “full respect and the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel.”

“Security concerns must be addressed by fully benefiting from the monitoring mechanism that was established in the framework of the ceasefire agreement,” he said.

Amina Shara said that the family in the United States was constantly concerned by its relatives in Lebanon.

She said: “My brother was a man who loved life and loved his family. He had nothing to do with politics. He was working to provide his family.” “What was the mistake of children for Israel to kill them?”
