The crew of the 3000 -cars shipping to Mexico, including 800 electric cars, is deserted after they were unable to control a fire on the ship in the water off the Alaska Island series.
A large group of smoke was initially seen in the ship next to the ship loaded with electric cars on Tuesday, according to American Coast Guard photos and a statement on Wednesday from the ship’s management company, Zodiac Martimi, based in London. The crew started firefighting procedures in emergency situations with a fire suppression system on board the ship, but they were unable to control the fire.
“The relevant authorities have been notified, and we are working closely with emergency respondents by spreading a tension to support rescue and shooting,” said Zodiac Martimi in a statement.
“Our priorities are to ensure the continued safety of the crew and protect the marine environment.”
