11 months after criticizing Aaron Rodgers for destroying the Jets, Boomer Eisason is reversing his stance on the 4x NFL MVP as Aaron Glenn’s team struggles with Justin Fields.

Aaron Rodgers’ exit from the New York Jets may be a blessing in disguise, as Aaron Glenn’s nightmare season in New York got worse after a 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos in London. Now sitting at 0-6, the offense appears to be completely broken, and quarterback Justin Fields bears a lot of the blame.

Amid the chaos, NFL MVP Boomer Esiason dropped a surprise shot. The former Bengal midfielder who tore Aaron Rodgers 11 months ago, due to “sucking air out of the (aircraft) building,” he completely changed his style.

During an appearance on “Up & Adams,” Esiason didn’t hesitate when asked if the Jets would still be in contention with Rodgers under center.

“Boom, 100% boom,” he said. “I think Aaron Rodgers has landed on his feet in a much better place, a more stable situation with Mike Tomlin there in Pittsburgh. But I would say yes, they would have been in the playoffs if they had Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback.”

It’s a reversal of position since last November when Esiason accused Rodgers of trashing the Jets’ locker room.

Aaron Glenn addresses Justin Fields’ Jets issue

The Jets’ struggles have reached a new low in London, and coach Aaron Glenn is now forced to defend his quarterback. Justin Fields He threw for just 45 yards on nine completions, was sacked nine times, and finished with an abysmal net pass total of -10 yards, apparently the worst mark in franchise history.

Naturally, questions about Fields’ job security began to arise. When asked if the third-year quarterback would still be the starter heading into Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, Glenn initially shrugged it off, Saying,

“Come on man, what kind of question is that?”

However, the Jets coach softened his stance during Monday’s press conference in New Jersey.

“When you look at what Justin did in the games he played, I didn’t think he was bad at all,” Glenn told the media. “In this fifth game, he took a step back. We can’t allow that. He knows that better than anyone.”

Glenn believes that one bad game is not enough to bring about radical change. If Fields doesn’t turn things around quickly, Tyrod Taylor could be warming up sooner than expected.
